  • Tree Worker Certificate Qualified Staff
Great Scott Tree Service Inc. believes in providing the highest quality tree maintenance services. Our staff includes both Certified Arborists and Tree Workers certified by the International Society of Arborists (ISA). Our trained personnel must receive continuing education to maintain their certified status. Therefore, they are knowledgeable of the latest pruning standards and techniques.
    Certified
    ISA Pruning Standards
    Crown Clean
Removal off dead, dying, diseased, crowded, weakly attached and low-vigor branches from the crown of a tree.

    Crown Thinning
Selective removal of branches to increase light penetration and air movement through the crown. Thinning opens the foliage of a tree, reduces weight on heavy limbs, and helps retain the tree's natural shape.

    Crown Raising
Removes the lower branches from a tree in order to provide clearance for buildings, vehicles, pedestrians and vistas.

    Crown Reduction
Reduces the size of a tree, often for clearance for utility lines. Reducing the height or spread of a tree is best accomplished by pruning back the leaders and branch terminals to lateral branches that are large enough to assume the terminal roles (at least one-third the diameter of the cut stem). Compared to topping, this helps maintain the form and structural integrity of the tree.

    Insurance
An important factor to consider when contracting a tree service company is insurance. Many companies do not carry adequate insurance to protect your property and the people on it. Some landscape companies may attempt to pass off their coverage as sufficient for doing tree work, but it is often inadequate. Liability, workman's compensation, and auto coverage are all specialized and more expensive for performing tree maintenance. If an accident were to occur and the company you contracted was not properly covered, you may be held liable.

The following is a description of the insurance we carry, specially designed for tree maintenance:
    • Liability Insurance
    • Workman's Compensation Insurance
    • Vehicle & Equipment Insurance
    Agent: Ogilvy-Hill Insurance
